Must-Try Restaurants in Greensboro, NC: A Foodie’s Guide to the Best Eats in Town

If you’re looking for great food in Greensboro, NC, you’re in luck! The city has a thriving restaurant scene with a variety of options to suit all tastes. From BBQ to Mexican, Indian to Italian, and everything in between, Greensboro has some of the best dining experiences in the state. I’ve compiled a list of my favorite spots so far, and will continue to add to it as I eat my way around the city!

If you love a good steak, Flemings is by far one of if not the best steakhouse in Greensboro. This upscale steakhouse offers top-tier service and a variety of wines and spirits that pair perfectly with your meal. Flemings is the perfect place for date night, business meetings, or lunch outing.The must-try item? The Tomahawk Steak, it is by far well worth the price. Cooked to perfection over the fire, it is a true gem here.  

In the mood for some sushi? Hokkaido Ramen and Sushi is the perfect spot if you want high quality sushi and ramen in Greensboro. Their sushi menu features a variety of specialty rolls and appetizers, including the mouth-watering bao buns. While the ramen menu is a bit limited, they are all tasty options for the noodle lovers. With excellent service and reasonable prices, you’re in for a treat.

DON

If you love Korean food you can’t miss Don, a quaint spot on Tate Street close to the UNCG campus. Their bibimbap is a must-try dish, served in a sizzling cast iron bowl with authentic flavors and a mellow ambiance. Family-owned and operated, you’re guaranteed great service and food every time.

BonChon

For some of the best Korean fried chicken in town, BonChon is a must-visit. Although it’s a small, fast-food type of restaurant, their food is really good and makes a great lunch or pre-game snack. While it may not be the most authentic Korean food in Greensboro, it’s definitely worth a visit or conveniently ordering delivery through UberEats.

US Sushi

Located in the heart of the Friendly Center Complex, US Sushi is a mid-sized restaurant with a huge menu. From simple rolls to custom special rolls, there’s something for everyone, making it a great choice for sushi lovers of all levels. 

Boba House

Vegetarian restaurant Boba House is another spot close to UNCG campus, inspired by Vietnamese and Thai dishes. Their menu features an assortment of fresh ingredients, noodles, rice, spring rolls, and more, as well as smoothies and milk teas. The Asian influence really comes out in the taste of their dishes, so whether you’re a vegetarian or a carnivore, Boba House is sure to impress. 

City BBQ

If you’re in the mood for some southern-style BBQ but don’t have time to wait, City BBQ is the place to go. From smoked brisket to mac & cheese, you won’t leave hungry, and with dine-in, take-out, and even a drive-thru option, it’s all about convenience. 

Dame’s Chicken and Waffles

For some of the best southern fried chicken in town, head to Dame’s Chicken and Waffles in the downtown area. Although they’re always busy and you may have to wait in line, the perfect Belgian waffles and homemade butters are definitely worth the wait. Plus, they also serve classic southern sides and homemade drinks, making it a great spot for breakfast, brunch, or dinner.

Liberty Oak

Located in downtown Greensboro, Liberty Oak is a popular restaurant that serves simple southern classics, such as shrimp and grits, pimento grilled cheese with tomato soup, and more. It’s the perfect spot for a quick lunch break from the office, with excellent service and a quaint atmosphere. Don’t miss their full bar and drink menu with a variety of flavorful options.

Mizumi Hibachi & Sushi

Mizumi Hibachi & Sushi is the only all-you-can-eat sushi bar in town and is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant offers both classic and traditional seating options, and the menu is full of delicious sushi options. You can have unlimited sushi and appetizers (as long as you finish it), or just order from the regular menu. Their sushi chefs are excellent, but try to get there at opening or be prepared for a wait as it’s always busy! 

Pho Hien Vuong

Pho Hien Vuong is a popular Vietnamese restaurant with a variety of food options from chicken wings to traditional noodle soups. The restaurant is always packed and has a friendly atmosphere. They use fresh ingredients, and your food is always hot and delicious when it comes out. If you’re in the mood for food that gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling, check this place out PHO real! 

Tex & Shirleys

Tex & Shirley’s is a classic southern breakfast restaurant that offers simple yet delicious food. From pancake wrapped sausage to breakfast bowls, they have something for every member of the family. You won’t find all the frills here, but you will experience that classic southern hospitality along with a filling meal.
